What is there even to say about the tune Barbara Streisand? I'm at a loss...Well - here are the facts:
Barbara Streisand is a dance/electro/club tune from producers Duck Sauce - the production duo A-Trak and Armand Van Helden. A-Trak is the man behind the popular indie label Fools Gold, and is most well known for having been Kanye West's tour DJ, and for producing tracks for artists such as Kid Sister and Lupe Fiasco.
So the guy is popular amongst the kiddies. Who knows how the idea came about, but somehow Duck Sauce decided it was a great idea to make a dance beat where the only lyrics are a man's voice repeatedly saying "Barbara Streisand". And of course - the kids (who probably don't even know who Babs is), LOVE it.
The thing is - it's catchy! And strangely fun and great. The song has caught fire and in it's recent release, it is already #2 on the iTunes charts in UK, and #1 in Belgium...
And since A-Trak is a major cool kid, the music video features cameos from everybody including Questlove, Pharell, Diplo, Kanye West, Santigold, Ryan Leslie, DJ Premier - all lip synching - "Barbra Streisand".
WTF?!
